Vitor Belfort and Wanderlei Silva to Coach “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil”

Two of Brazil’s more accomplished and high profile fighters will coach opposite one another in the upcoming, premiere season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil”, as the UFC has confirmed that Vitor Belfot and Wanderlei Silva will assume its coaching duties.
Although no specific date regarding when the show will premiere has been released, the promotion’s has announced that TUF Brazil will begin airing next March. Featherweight and middleweight fighters are expected to compete on the first international edition of the program, which will be broadcast on Brazil’s Rede Globo network.
In keeping with previous seasons of TUF, Silva and Belfort will fight at the conclusion of the show, however, no date has been released. Although the UFC tweet announcing Silva and Belfort did not state that the two would face off, Zuffa co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta did confirm that the two will fight via his Twitter account.
Belfort is scheduled to fight Anthony Johnson at UFC 142 on January 14th, and Fertitta also confirmed that the fight is still a go.
Silva and Belfort will be fighting for the second time, as the two met at Ultimate Brazil in October, 1998. Belfort won the bout in dramatic fashion by knocking out Silva with a series of punches in just 44 seconds.
No broadcast plans for TUF Brazil have been announced for North America, however, there is speculation that the show will be carried by FOX’s FX channel.
