Vitor Belfort is hoping to get back on track in 2017, and the Brazilian star has named Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz as possible opponents for his next bout.

Belfort is coming off a stoppage loss to Gegard Mousasi in October, which was the 39 year-old’s third defeat in his last four bouts. Recently the legend spoke to Combate about his next bout, and Belfort had this to say about Silva and Diaz (quotes via MMA Fighting.com):

“I know the UFC has sat down to do big fights,” Belfort said while talking about a rematch with Silva, who KO’d him back in 2011. “I never had anything personal against Anderson. Quite the opposite. That fight with me changed the history of MMA. I know how important that fight was. But it’s a fight fans absolutely wanna see.”

“Nick Diaz is a good fight,” Belfort added. “I would like this fight. He’s a guy with good boxing and good ground game, so it will be a good challenge.”

Belfort also reportedly named Chris Weidman and middleweight champ Michael Bisping as opponents he’d like to face. The latter is expected to fight contender Yoel Romero sometime in the spring. Belfort holds a 2013 stoppage win over Bisping.

The former champ Weidman, who was recently stopped by Romero, finished Belfort in a bout last May.
