Cage Warriors – Europe’s Leading MMA Organisation – has today confirmed the date and location of former featherweight champion Jordan Vucenic’s next outing in the famous yellow gloves.

‘The Epidemic’ will face promotional newcomer Brice Picaud at CW 157 on July 21st at the indigo at The O2 in London.

Corby, England’s Vucenic (10-2) last saw action at CW 150 in March, outlasting an early onslaught from Italian prospect Tiziano Ferranti to secure a second-round rear naked choke.

The 27 year old had previously captured 145lb gold in a five-round thriller with French superstar Morgan Charriere, before defending the belt against top contender James Hendin.

He also holds notable wins over CW veteran Steve Aimable and current featherweight champion Paul Hughes, with whom he has split a pair of memorable bouts.

Frenchman Picaud (13-8, 1NC) comes into the bout on the back of a career-best run of form that has seen him net six wins from his last seven contests, including four straight.

An armed forces veteran, ‘Lion Kid’ holds blackbelts in both Judo and Karate, making him a threat in all aspects of the game. That versatility is reflected in his pro record, which contains wins via all manner of strikes and submissions.

Also added to the CW 157 card today is a mouth-watering clash between the real life superhero Lone’er Kavanagh and Shawn Marcos Claudina Da Silva.

Kavanagh (5-0) remains perfect as a professional and has been on something of a tear through the flyweight ranks in Cage Warriors.

Known for his flashy style, unflappability and a string of highlight reel finishes, Kavanagh recently stopped Davide Scarano with a spectacular spinning heel kick.

Da Silva (5-0) exploded onto the scene at Unplugged in March, instantly endearing himself to CW fans with his memorable antics before, during and after his second round stoppage of Kiru Singh Sahota.

Finally, a featherweight bout between CW veteran Tom Mearns (9-8) and newcomer Bailey Gilbert (8-4) was also confirmed for the card today.

Mearns returns looking to get back on track after snapping a three-fight winning streak in his last outing, while Gilbert makes his CW bow after his original debut fell through following an injury to his opponent.

All the action at CW 157, which is headlined by a middleweight title rematch between champion Mick Stanton and challenger James Webb, will air live on UFC Fight Pass and international broadcast partners.

Tickets are available via CageWarriors.com.
