9-1 Lightweight Will Brooks Targeted For Bellator 97
By FCF Staff
After incurring his first defeat at the hands of Saad Awad in Bellator’s last lightweight tourney, Will Brooks is likely set to compete at the promotion’s upcoming July 31st event.
Sources close to the fight have informed Full Contact Fighter that the 9-1 Brooks is expected to fight on the card, which will take place at Santa Ana Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
No information regarding his opponent was disclosed, however, it will be a non-tournament contest.
Brooks made his Bellator debut in January, and after handing Ricardo Tirloni a unanimous defeat in the quarterfinals, he was stopped by Awad one month later.
In December, Brooks stopped former Sengoku champion Satoru Kitaoka in the second round while competing for DREAM.
Bellator 97 will feature lightweight champ Michael Chandler taking on David Rickels in the main event.
