Wilson Reis vs. Farkhad Sharipov Headlines Locked in the Cage 2

By FCF Staff

August is shaping up to be a busy month for MMA fans in Philadelphia, as the city’s Locked in the Cage promotion has confirmed several bouts for its upcoming August 4th card, just two days prior to when the UFC hits town.

Headlining Locked in the Cage 2 will be a 140lb. catch-weight bout between former Elite XC featherweight champ Wilson Reis and decorated Kyrgyzstan wrestler Farkhad Sharipov.

Reis (12-3) hasn’t competed since April when he was knocked out by Patricio Freire at Bellator 41. The loss came after Reis scored back-to-back wins over Deividas Taurosevicius and Zac George at Bellator 33 and 37 respectively.

Sharipov (13-3) will head into the August 4th Locked in the Cage having won six straight fights. Most recently the Gracie Barra Orlando fighter defeated Tommy Vargas by decision while fighting for Tachi Palace Fights in May.

Two other bouts that have been confirmed for the upcoming Locked in the Cage card include recent Bellator try-out winner Kyle Cerminara (1-0) vs. John Doyle (9-17), and Tuan “Kid Thunder” Pham (3-4) vs. bantamweight Brandon Inskeep (4-6).

The event will be hosted by Philadelphia’s South Philly Arena.
