This Saturday at World Series of Fighting’s latest event in Atlantic City, Rick Glenn is going to do his best to capture part of the spotlight, which will be focused on the promotion’s middleweight tourney and the main event between Andrei Arlovski and Mike Kyle. Not only will Glenn be looking to build on the KO win he scored over Alexandre Pimentel at WSOF 2 in March, but the rising featherweight will be attempting to extend his undefeated streak to 12. Standing in his way will be the undefeated Artur Rofi.

“I can see myself finishing,” the 24 year-old Glenn said while appearing on Full Contact Fighter Radio recently, when asked to predict how his WSOF 5 bout with Rofi could go. “I see him coming at me hard and just getting hit hard. I’m going to come out there sharp and ready to go. I’m excited for this fight.”

While the Roufusport fighter’s impressive run has caught the attention of many observers throughout MMA, Rofi has gone 6-0 since he turned pro in 2010. The featherweight has won five bouts via submission after scoring a KO win in his first pro bout.

“I think he’s a decent grappler, undefeated…believe he’s 29 and he’s from Newark, New Jersey,” Glenn noted about Rofi. “I haven’t see much footage on him but my coaches have and he just comes out there kind of wild. Looks to clinch up and grapple.”

“So I’ve been working on my grappling a lot ever since my last fight, because I was kind of getting whupped up on the ground a little bit,” Glenn added. “So I’ve put on some muscle for this fight and improved my grappling.”

While Glenn and other Roufusport fighters are well known for their striking, as many of the renowned gym’s athletes have demonstrated before, the camp focuses on all aspects of MMA.

“Obviously we have Ben Askren,” Glenn noted. “He’s helped out a ton, and just over the last few years our jiu-jitsu program has improved. We have, I think, a handful of black belts. From Brazil there’s the Moraes brothers, Daniel and Diego, and Daniel’s actually a multi-world champ. We also have Daniel Wanderley, he is from Carlson Gracie Junior’s school over there in Chicago; he actually just moved here not too long ago and he’s going to be in my corner.”

While Glenn went on to stop Pimentel in round three at WSOF 2, as he alluded to, the BJJ black belt tested the fighter’s ground skills earlier on in the bout.

“Of course I’m happy that I won and got the knockout, but right away after the fight I talked to my cornerman and coaches, and I was picking their brain about what I need to do different with my footwork and striking,” Glenn relayed. “Maybe I should have let my head kicks go a little bit sooner because that’s what dazed him. Not be so hesitant…”

“Just little things here and there that I needed to improve on. I got stronger since that fight and improved my grappling. There’s always room for improvement.”

WSOF 5 will be hosted by the Revel Resort and Casino in Atlantic City and the main card will be broadcast on the NBC Sports Network.
