Vila

By FCF Staff

Less than two weeks removed from it’s sixth event in Coral Gables, Florida, World Series of Fighting has announced that Bellator vet Alexis Vila will fight bantamweight Josh Rettinghouse at the October 26th card.

The event will be hosted by the city’s Bank United Center and will feature Josh Burkman taking on Steve Carl for the inaugural WSOF welterweight title.

Vila (13-3) is coming off back-to-back wins while competing for Championship Fighting Alliance, which ended a three fight losing streak for the decorated wrestler. The 42 year-old advanced to the finals of a Bellator bantamweight tourney in 2011, but lost by unanimous decision to Eduardo Dantas.

The 23 year-old Rettinghouse has gone 4-1 in his last five fights and most recently has been competing for Cage Sport.

The main card for WSOF 6 will also feature Justin Gaethje versus Dan Lauzon, Jon Fitch vs. Marcelo Alfaya and Carson Beebe vs. Marlon Moraes.
