World Series of Fighting has been forced to make another change to its January 18th lightweight title fight, as the promotion has announced that Lewis Gonzalez has been forced to drop out due to injury. As a result, Richard Patishnock will step into fight Justin Gaethje for the inaugural title.

Gonzalez was tapped to replace “JZ” Cavalcante last month, who also withdrew from the January 18th card as a result of getting injured.

Patishnock (6-1) has gone 2-0 to date with the WSOF by scoring wins over Gregor Gracie and Igor Gracie. He was initially scheduled to fight Luis Palomino at WSOF 8.

Gaethje (10-0) has won three straight with WSOF by stopping Cavalcante, Brian Cobb and most recently Dan Lauzon.

WSOF 8 will be hosted by the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and will be broadcast on the NBC Sports Network.
