Although title fight talk surrounded the World Series of Fighting’s second show, and Josh Burkman expressed his reservations about Jon Fitch being granted an immediate shot at the welterweight belt, it appears as though the promotion won’t be crowning any champions until later this year.

WSOF President Ray Sefo confirmed via Twitter that Fitch and Burkman will indeed fight at the organization’s next event in June, but that:

There is a lot of talk about @MMAWorldSeries titles, to clear things up WSOF will not be doing any title fights till the end of 2013

Burkman (25-9) stopped Aaron Simpson last weekend at WSOF 2 to record his fourth straight win.

Fitch (24-5-1) recently signed with the WSOF, after the noted welterweight was surprisingly cut by the UFC, following a unanimous decision loss to Demian Maia in February.

The 35 year-old, former number one contender scored a UD win over Erick Silva in his previous outing at UFC 153 in October.
