WSOF President Ray Sefo Says “We’re in Talks” With Yushin Okami
By FCF Staff
Following his release from the UFC, top ten ranked middleweight Yushin Okami is already attracting interest from other big stage promotions, as World Series of Fighting is apparently talking to his representatives.
Shortly after it was reported Okami had been cut, WSOF matchmaker Ali Abdel-Aziz tweeted: @OkamiYushin you have home at @MMAWorldSeries.
Then, in a follow up interaction on Twitter, WSOF President Ray Sefo relayed: @SugarRaySefo please sign yushin okami” We’re in talks with his team…
News of Okami’s released surfaced Friday, which seemed to surprise many fans and observers, considering Okami went 13-5 during his lengthy run with the UFC. Despite his impressive record, however, Okami has lost two of his last five fights. Most recently the powerful Judoka was stopped by “Jacare” Souza at UFC FN 28. Okami’s grappling based style has also been criticized by some fans in the past.
Considering what Okami has accomplished, however, one would think he will receive offers from other ZUFFA competitors as well.
