WSOF President Ray Sefo vs. Dave Huckaba Confirmed for WSOF 4, Nick Newell to Make Promotional Debut

World Series of Fighting President and six-time world kickboxing champion Ray Sefo

By Timothy Gilbert

World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo has announced that he will face off against heavyweight Dave Huckaba at the upcoming WSOF 4, in addition to declaring that former XFC champion Nick Newell will fight on the same card.

Sefo (2-1) announced he would be fighting at the event to MMAFighting.com on Monday, but refrained from announcing who he would face.

A longtime kickboxer with over 50 career wins, Sefo will compete in his third professional MMA match. He began his career with two straight victories over Min Soo Kim and Kevin Jordan, but he has not fought since being submitted by Valentijn Overeem in February of 2011.

The promotion’s 42-year-old President will face off against Dave Huckaba, a 39-year-old veteran with over 20 professional victories. Huckaba (20-5) was initially scheduled to fight Rolles Gracie at WSOF 3, but an injured wrist forced Gracie off of the card.

Huckaba was last defeated by Damian Grabowski at Bellator 67 back in 2012. Since the loss, he has won three straight matches, finishing all of his opponents before the start of the third round.

The undefeated Newell (9-0) will make his WSOF debut in August. The former XFC lightweight champion was stripped of his title after refusing to defend his belt against challenger Scott Holtzman. No opponent has been announced as of yet.

WSOF 4 will take place on August 10 at the Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, California.
