XFC Announces Mike Bronzoulis Out of Friday’s Main Event, Roger Carroll Fighting Corey Hill

Corey Hill

By FCF Staff

One day before Xtreme Fighting Championships is set to promotion its latest event in Charlotte, North Carolina, the organization has announced that Mike Bronzoulis will not fight UFC vet Corey Hill as scheduled in the headliner.

Welterweight Roger Carroll, who had been scheduled to fight Nicolae Cury, has been moved into the main event slot.

The XFC made the announcement via its official Facebook page; however, the reason for Brounzoulis’s withdrawal was not disclosed.

Ronnie Rogers (11-10) has agreed to step up on short notice and fight Cury (6-3).

Hill (6-4) is coming off back-to-back submission wins, after losing by unanimous decision to Rob McCullough, while fighting for Tachi Palace Fights in September, 2010.

Carroll (11-5) hasn’t competed since last September when he recorded a TKO win over Josh Eagans while competing for Imperial Fighting. The veteran is 3-2 in his last five fights.

XFC 19 will be hosted by Charlotte’s Grady Cole Center and will be broadcast live on AXS TV.
