It remains to be seen if Tony Ferguson will fight again in the Octagon. But, following the former interim lightweight champ’s latest defeat, there’s no indication “El Cucuy’s” thinking about retiring.
Ferguson faced rising lightweight Paddy Pimblett at UFC 296 on Saturday and lost the fight via unanimous decision. The defeat was Ferguson’s seventh straight.
Since then, the renowned fighter reportedly shared the statement below via Instagram stories.
“Love my fans and supporters. You are all f****** fire. I met lots of you tonight, keep the faith MF’s. One foot in front of the other b******. Remember what I said crew — Champ.”
Following UFC 296, UFC President Dana White reported that he would like to see Ferguson (25-10) retire. The latter will turn 40 in February.
