The UFC’s upcoming card in Vancouver, British Columbia, has a new main event, approximately one month out from the event. Recently, the promotion announced that Brendan Allen is stepping in for Anthony Hernandez, who was scheduled to face Reinier de Ridder.

The reason for Hernandez’s withdrawal from the October 18th card has not been announced.

Allen (25-7) is coming off a win over Marvin Vettori in July, which followed defeats to top-ranked middleweights in Nassourdine Imavov and the aforementioned Hernandez. Allen has gone 3- 2 in his last 5 bouts.

De Ridder (21-2), meanwhile, recorded a split decision win over former champ Robert Whittaker in his last bout, which took place in July. The former ONE champ has won 5 straight fights.

Allen is currently ranked #11 in the UFC’s middleweight rankings and De Ridder is ranked #4.
