Brendan Allen made the most of stepping up on short notice for UFC Vancouver’s headliner, as the middleweight halted the rise of Reinier de Ridder.

Allen, who was a replacement for de Ridder’s original opponent, Anthony Hernandez, recorded a fourth round, TKO win over the former ONE champ. De Ridder threatened with submission attempts early on into the fight, but Allen battled through them.

As the fight wore on, Allen pulled off  key reversals on the ground and inflicted more damage from the top position and when the fight was standing. A visibly exhausted de Ridder did not come out for the fifth round, handing Allen the TKO win.
