UFC London: Joseph Duffy Planning to “Enjoy Every Second” of Fight Week, Following Lengthy Layoff
By FCF Staff
After going throughout 2018 without fighting once, Joseph Duffy is understandably very excited to be returning to the Octagon next month.
The Irish fighter is booked to fight lightweight Marc Diakiese at the UFC’s March 16th card in London, England. It will mark the first time Duffy has fought since November, 2017, when he was stopped by James Vick.
Recently Duffy (16-3) appeared on the podcast, and whiled discussing his pending return to the cage, he said this (quotes via MMA Fighting):
“I’m definitely chomping at the bit. With this camp, I just can’t wait to get over there and get into the Octagon. My mindset has changed in a way; camps aren’t always smooth. Sometimes you’re hungry, you’re fed up and you’re body is tired and you can have everything wearing on your nerves.”
“This time is a bit different, I’m going to make sure I can enjoy it. I just want to enjoy every second of fight week and when I get in there I’m really going to lap it up, take it in and enjoy every second.”
The 30-year-old Duffy, who was sidelined more recently due to a rib injury, has gone 3-2 in his last five bouts. Diakiese (12-3) has dropped three straight fights.
