After calling for his PFL release and reporting he would not resign with the promotion, Aaron Pico has announced he’s signed with the UFC.
The 28-year-old Pico, who made his pro-debut back in 2017 under the Bellator banner, recently announced via Instagram he is headed to the Octagon.
“After years of hard work, dedication, and unwavering belief, I’ve officially signed with the @UFC! This is more than just a dream come true; it’s the beginning of a new chapter. Thank you to my family, my manager @aliabdelaziz, coaches, training partners, and everyone who has supported me on this journey. Your belief in me has fueled my fire. The ultimate goal? To become the UFC champion. I’m ready to work harder than ever before to make that a reality.”
On account of Pico’s amateur wrestling, boxing and Pankration background, Bellator signed him as a highly-touted prospect in 2014. After incurring some setbacks in his early run as a pro-fighter, Pico (13-4) proceeded to establish himself as one of Bellator’s top featherweights. His only loss since 2019 came via a shoulder injury in a 2022 bout with Jeremy Kennedy.
Pico’s last fight took place in February, 2024, when he stopped Henry Corrales in the opening round.
