After coming up short in his title shot bout with flyweight champ Deiveson Figueiredo, Alex Perez has shared out a statement.

Perez battled Figueiredo in the headliner of UFC 255. After the bout went to the floor not long in, Perez was eventually caught in a fight ending, guillotine choke.

Following the defeat, which snapped his three-fight winning streak, Perez posted this statement.

Well, it is what it is. It’s part of the business. Stuff happens. I’ll be back. 2020 has been a crazy year for me. 3 fights and finding out I’ll be a dad. I’m beyond blessed. Thank you for all the support I’ll be back!

Thank you to all my teammates coach, family, friends and sponsors for all the support. Without you guys,I wouldn’t be here. #itiswhatitis

The 28-year-old Perez saw his record fall to 24-6 as a result of the loss. Heading into UFC 255, Perez was ranked #4 in the UFC’s flyweight division.
