Cris “Cyborg” has argued that Amanda Nunes needs to beat a top featherweight, before a bout between the champions makes sense, but the latter is campaigning for the all-star fight to happen.

“Cyborg” made the comments after Dana White relayed in a recent interview that Nunes wants to fight the featherweight champion, and that he hopes to book the bout. More recently, the bantamweight champion tweeted out her take on the proposed match-up:

First of all, I have nothing personal against @criscyborg I do believe it is the fight that everyone wants to see and a fight where we can both leave our marks on this sport.

Nunes is coming off a split decision win over Valentina Shevchenko in September, and has won six straight fights.
