After defending her featherweight title last month, Amanda Nunes will look to extend her reign as the UFC’s bantamweight champ against Julianna Pena next.

Nunes retained the featherweight title at UFC 259 on March 6th, by quickly submitting Megan Anderson. Now ESPN is reporting that UFC President Dana White has confirmed Nunes (21-4) will take on Pena (10-4) at UFC 265 in August.

The event is being targeted for August 7th, but the exact date and location has yet to be finalized.

Pena is coming off a submission win over Sara McMann in January. The former TUF winner is 3-2 in her last 5 bouts.

Nunes, meanwhile, has won 12 straight fights. The last time she defended the bantamweight title was in December, 2019, when she outscored Germaine de Randamie for the decision win.
