Anderson Silva Believes he Can Still Hang With UFC’s Elite

Although Anderson Silva is now 43 year’s old, and has just one official win on his record in his last 5 bouts, the legendary fighter remains confident he can compete with the UFC’s best.
Recently USADA announced that the banned substances Silva tested positive for last year, were the results of a contaminated supplement he took. As a result, the former middleweight champ will be cleared to compete by mid November.
Since then, the Brazilian star spoke with MMA Fighting, and when asked if he thinks he could win another championship, Silva said this:
“Man, I’m in great shape, I have what it takes to fight anyone, and now I’ll wait for UFC’s decision. I’ll talk to my team and see what we’ll do. But I don’t have anyone in mind. I’ll wait and see the decisions that will be made.”
When asked who he’s interested in facing in his return bout, Silva relayed:
“Man, I’ll just keep training, something I never stopped since this situation started, and wait. I have some fights left in my contract with the UFC. I don’t have any names, no one I would specifically like to fight. I’ll just keep training, stay in shape and wait to come back as fast as possible.”
Silva hasn’t fought since February, 2017, when he earned a decision win over Derek Brunson.
