BAMMA 16: Paul Daley to Battle Marinho Moreira da Rocha After Igor Fernandes Withdraws
By FCF Staff
Paul Daley has received a new opponent for BAMMA 16, approximately two weeks out from when the September 13th card will go down at the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, England.
According to a press release from the British promotion, Marinho Moreira da Rocha has agreed to step in and replace the injured Igor Fernandes, who originally was booked to fight Daley. Fernandes reportedly fractured his tibia in training recently.
Marinho Moreira da Rocha (28-6) is riding a six fight win streak and hasn’t lost a bout since 2011. Most recently, at an Arena Fight card in May, he stopped James Silveira.
Daley (34-13-2) hasn’t competed in a MMA bout since last December, when he knocked out Romario Manoel da Silva at BAMMA 14. The welterweight and pro kickboxer is 4-1 in his last 5 MMA fights.
