BAMMA 17: Colin Fletcher to Battle Michael Brightmon
By FCF Staff
The British Association of Mixed-Martial-Arts has announced that UFC vet Colin Fletcher will battle Michael Brightmon at its December 6th event. BAMMA 17 will be hosted by the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, England.
Fletcher (10-4) is coming off a split decision win over Tony Hervey in April, after he was submitted by Mansour Barnaoui last December. The British fighter is 2-3 in his last 5 bouts.
“I literally can’t wait to fetch my carnival of pain back to the BAMMA cage,” Fletcher was quoted saying in a press release from the promotion. “It’s been a little while but I haven’t taken my foot off the pedal training wise! I’ve been lurking in the gym 24/7 as I’m desperate to get back to finishing fights early. I’m getting bored of winning decisions. The crowd at Manchester are in for a Freakshow spectacular come December 6th Heeheeheehee”
Brightmon (12-4) scored a split decision victory over Catalin Miron in his last outing, which took place at a Romanian Xtreme Fighting event in August. The Hawaiian fighter is 3-2 in his last 5 scraps. Brightmon was set to face Barnaoui at BAMMA 16 in September but an injury forced the latter to withdraw.
“I want to thank BAMMA for giving me this opportunity to fight,” said Brightmon. “I am truly humbled for this chance to compete in one of the biggest organisations in the world.”
