By Press Release
[London 17.07.01] The BAMMA promotion announce four further bouts added to the BAMMA London event, including Dominique Wooding Vs Jamie Powell and the return of Alex Montagnani as he faces Martin Hudson.

Dominique Wooding vs Jamie Powell (Flyweight Bout)
The Flyweight division gets the hottest match outside of a title fight at Wembley as two of the UK’s best go toe to toe at BAMMA 31. Dominique ‘The Black Panther’ Wooding will have his eye on getting a second shot at the BAMMA Flyweight Title in the near future, and taking down a fighter of Jamie Powell’s standing will definitely help this. Powell himself will be expecting to to get the victory over an exceptionally talented opponent, and as both men are never in a dull fight, Wooding Vs. Powell could very well be one to watch for in the fight of the night stakes.
Martin ‘Mantime’ Hudson Vs. Alex ‘The Mean Albatross’ Montagnani (Middleweight Bout)
If you like your MMA fast and furious, then this is the fight for you – two fighters that are renowned for the energy and excitement that they bring. ‘Mantime’ will be making his BAMMA debut and Montagnani will be returning to the promotion after an absence of three years.
“I’ve been through the wars throughout my whole MMA career… Every injury, every hard fight has made me who I am! I’ve evolved and I’m ready to smash, tear and claw my way to the top of the pecking order! I will be number one!” – Alex ‘The Mean Albatross’ Montagnani
Also joining the preliminaries will be Lightweight bouts Ollie Mathis vs Nathan ‘The Black’ Rose & Bantamweight contest Javid Bashrat vs Tony Hall.
Additional Info
Dominique ‘The Black Panther’ Wooding (3-1) returns to his hometown after narrowly missing out on winning the BAMMA Interim World Flyweight title. The Team Titan fighter has been carving a path of destruction on his way to the top of the division. Despite the setback in the last fight against Andy ‘Taz’ Young, Wooding heralded plaudits from those in attendance as he took Young to the wire, with an incredible performance that despite the loss had the entire division on notice that the ‘Black Panther’ is the real deal and that he will not stop until he claims that title.
Jamie Powell (6-2) made his BAMMA debut at the Barclaycard Arena securing the win via rear naked choke in 2:32 of an explosive bout against Arnold Dos Santos at BAMMA 21. Powell recently came up short against current Lonsdale title holder Daniel Barez. He holds an amateur career of 8-2, including competing at the inaugural IMMAF World Amateur Championships in Las Vegas as part of Team GB, under head coach Luke ‘Bigslow’ Barnatt. Powell trains out of Avaddon MMA in Cambridgeshire.
Martin ‘Mantime’ Hudson (4-3) is an explosive in your face style fighter out of Team Crossface under the watchful eye of BAMMA & UFC vet David Lee. Hudson has a tough all around game, with an endless gas tank that allows him to pressure fighters from bell to bell, not giving them any breathing space. Making his BAMMA debut, all of ‘Mantime’ wins have come inside the distance with 2 T/KO’s and 2 Submissions with none of his fights going to decision.
Alex ‘The Mean Albatross’ Montagnani (8-2-1) returns to the promotion where he is currently undefeated. With wins over Tim ‘The Siberian Yeti’ Menzies and Welterweight no.1 contender ‘Mr. Bag & Tag’ Nathan Jones, Montagnani now moves to Middleweight after taking some time off to recover from lingering injuries.
Ollie Mathis (1-3) hails from Kent in the south east of the UK, and trains out of the Combat Sports Academy in Strood and will be making his debut at BAMMA London.
Nathan ‘The Black’ Rose (4-1) fights out of former BAMMA fighter Jimi ‘Poster Boy’ Manuwa’s Lion’s Pride Gym and is based out of Croydon, South London. Currently on a three fight winning streak with all of those victories coming via way of 1st round T/KO’s.
Javid Basharat (2-0) hails from Afghanistan and currently trains out of London Shootfighters alongside the likes of Matt ‘Farmerboy’ Hallam, ‘Judo’ Jimmy Wallhead and Alfie ‘Ard’ Davis. Currently undefeated in both his amateur and pro career, with all his fights coming via way of stoppage, big things are expected from Basharat.
Tony Hall (3-3) the hard hitting striker from the Combat Sports Academy last competed in March of this year where he dispatched Robert Scott in just over a minute, with a barrage of strikes to secure the KO win. This will be Hall’s BAMMA debut.
