Bellator 112: Pat Curran Reclaims Featherweight Title With Thrilling Late Submission
By FCF Staff
Pat Curran may have needed a stoppage in round five, tonight at Bellator 112, and the rugged vet did just that to reclaim the promotion’s featherweight belt.
Although the main event was a competitive and entertaining bout, Straus appeared to have outscored Curran through four rounds. Late into round five, however, Curran took the back of Straus, and after working on a rear-naked-choke for several moments forced him to tap-out at 4:46.
In November, at Bellator 106, Straus avenged a 2009 loss to Curran by scoring a decision win, and ended his reign as featherweight champion.
Here are the results from Bellator 112, which went down in Hammond, Indiana.
