Bellator 141: Melvin Guillard Takes Loss in Promotional Debut
By FCF Staff
It looked like Melvin Guillard might pull off a come from behind win tonight at Bellator 141, but the UFC vet’s late attacks were too little and too late.
Brandon Girtz repeatedly took Guillard to the mat in the first two rounds, and controlled nearly all of the action. Late in round three, however, Guillard stunned Girtz with punches and knees, but the lightweight managed to survive the barrage.
Girtz, who clearly won rounds one and two, was awarded a split decision win after the bout.
