Bellator 200: Mirko “Cro Cop” Discusses Future Heading Into 51st Pro MMA Bout
By FCF Staff
Mirko “Crop Cop” Filipovic has walked away from fighting before, but as he approaches his 51st, pro MMA bout, the legendary heavyweight isn’t sure when he’ll hang up the gloves.
“Cro Cop” is preparing to fight Roy Nelson at Bellator 200, which will take place on May 25th in London, England. During a recent media call to promote the card, the 43 year-old fighter had this to say about his future in fighting (quote via MMA Fighting):
“It’s hard to say,” Filipovic said. “In this business, it’s hard to say. I said a few times already, ‘I’m done, I’m done,’ and at the end day, I always decided to extend my career.
“I will just do it as long as it makes me happy, and as long as my health allows me to keep fighting. So it can be one or two fights, it can be three, I don’t know.
“There are a lot of injuries in this sport, so you never know, especially at my age. I am 43, but I feel so good right now.”
Filipovic and Nelson fought before at UFC 137 in 2011, and the latter won the fight via third round stoppage.
