Rory MacDonald was taken out by Gegard Mousasi in dominant fashion at Bellator 206, and the welterweight champ has shared out his thoughts on the bout.

MacDonald was stopped by the middleweight champ in round two of their fight on Saturday, after he wound up on the bottom, and was unable to stop Mousasi’s ground-and-pound assault. Since the loss, MacDonald tweeted out these comments:

Last night was a tough one for me, unfortunately I didnt mentally show up ready to take on a competitive fight and froze in the cage. In this sport you pay a high price if you’re not dialed in and ready to go. I have zero excuses, gegard was a fantastic champion last night.

MacDonald is expected to face Jon Fitch in Bellator’s welterweight grand-prix, later this year. With the defeat, the 29 year-old’s record now stands at 20-5.
