Bellator has booked two, all-star match-ups for the promotion’s September 28th card in Inglewood, as “Pitbull” Freire will take on Juan Archuleta and Lyoto Machida will battle Gegard Mousasi for a second time.

Freire (29-4) will defend his 145 title against Archuleta (23-1) in an opening round bout of Bellator’s featherweight grand-prix. Freire is coming off a stoppage win over Michael Chandler in May, which delivered him the lightweight crown. Archuleta, meanwhile, knocked out former bantamweight champ Eduardo Dantas in his last outing.

Machida (26-8) fought last month and stopped Chael Sonnen in round two, while Mousasi (45-7-2) lost the middleweight title to Rafael Lovato Jr. via decision in his last bout, which also took place in June.

Mousasi and Machida fought for the first time back in 2014, and the latter won the fight via unanimous decision.

Bellator 228 will stream live exclusively on DAZN at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT, and preliminary action will stream on Bellator.com, DAZN and on the Bellator app.
