By FCF Staff
Usman Nurmagomedov needed less than three minutes at Bellator 292 to defend his lightweight crown, and advance in the promotion’s lightweight grand prix.
Nurmagomedov faced former UFC champ, Benson Henderson, and submitted the renowned fighter with a rear-naked-choke. After the bout, the 39-year-old Henderson announced he’s retiring.
Alexander Shabily also advanced in the grand prix, by stopping Tofiq Musayev in the third round of their bout. Musayev could not continue after taking a kick to the chest, which also hit his groin. Ultimately, it was ruled the strike was not a foul, so the bout was awarded to Shabily.
