Beneil Dariush is Picking Charles Oliveira Over Michael Chandler
By FCF Staff
Charles Oliveira has done nothing but win since 2017, and Beneil Dariush doesn’t see that changing at UFC 262 next month.
Oliveira is booked to fight former Bellator champ Michael Chandler at the May 15 card, in a fight that will determine the promotion’s new lightweight champion. As the fight approaches, Oliveira (30-8, 1 NC) is riding an eight-fight winning streak.
Chandler (22-5), meanwhile, has been tapped for the title fight, after finishing Dan Hooker in January. The decorated fighter has won three straight.
Recently Dariush spoke with MMA Junkie, and when asked for his prediction on the Chandler – Oliveira fight, he said this.
“Early on I was leaning toward Chandler because he has more experience in five rounds,” Dariush said. “But watching Oliveira lately, I think he has matured a lot, so I’m leaning toward him a little bit more. So I think Oliveira is gonna pull it off, and it’s gonna be a finish.”
Dariush (20-4) is scheduled to fight Tony Ferguson (25-5) at UFC 262, which will take place in Houston, Texas.
