Benoit Saint Denis Gets Short Notice Opponent For UFC 315

Benoit Saint Denis is still set to compete at this Saturday’s UFC 315 card, as Kyle Prepolec has agreed to face the lightweight contender.

Saint Denis was booked to face Joel Alvarez at the May 10th event. But, recently, it was reported that Alvarez has withdrawn due to a hand injury.

SportsNet’s Aaron Bronsteter was the first to report that Canda’s Prepolec (18-8) is stepping up to battle France’s Saint Denis (13-3). The UFC has since confirmed the new match-up.

The 35-year-old Prepolec went 0 and 2 in his first UFC stint, back in 2019.Since then, the Canadian has gone 4-1.

Saint Denis, who is 29, is coming off consecutive losses to Dustin Poirier and Renato Moicano. The French fighter is 3-2 in his last 5 contests.

UFC 315 will take place in Montreal, Quebec, and will feature welterweight champion Belal Muhammad taking on Jack Della Maddalena in the headliner.
