Bibiano Fernandes Says Deal With ONE FC Final, Making Promotional Debut August 31st

One of mixed-martial-arts most sought after free agents, DREAM bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes, informed Full Contact Fighter Tuesday night that he has signed with growing Asian promotion ONE FC.
According to Fernandes, the 32 year-old-fighter will make his promotional debut at ONE FC’s upcoming August 31st card in Manila, Philippines. The bantamweight’s opponent has not been confirmed.
Although the decorated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor would not elaborate on the terms of the deal, Fernandes relayed to FCF earlier today that the deal was “for many fights.”
Earlier this summer it was widely reported that Fernandes had signed with the UFC and that he would make his Octagon debut at UFC 149, however, the fighter later revealed that he had never signed the contract.
A couple of weeks ago, Fernandes confirmed to Full Contact Fighter that he had been offered a contract by ONE FC, but that he had not yet signed with the organization. At that juncture, the bantamweight was quick to credit the UFC and acknowledged that he was interested in fighting for the promotion, but added that the ONE FC offer was a “better deal.”
Fernandes makes his way to ONE FC having won three consecutive fights while competing in DREAM’s Bantamweight Grand-Prix last year.
Full Contact Fighter will have more from Fernandes on his new contract soon.
