Canelo Alvarez Outscores Edgar Berlanga to Retain Middleweight Belts

Canelo Alvarez remains the WBC, WBA, and WBO super middleweight champion, following the boxing star’s bout with Edgar Berlanga on Saturday night.
The Mexican champion faced the New York boxer at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and retained the belts via scores of 117-110, 118-109, and 118-109.
Alvarez knocked Berlanga down in the third frame, but the American battled back and managed to go the distance with the heavy favorite.
With the victory, Alvarez moved his overall record to 62-2-2, 39 KO. Berlanga’s fell to 22-1, 17 KO.
