Caol Uno vs. “Lion” Inoue Confirmed for DREAM 17
By FCF Staff
DREAM has begun unveiling the line-up for the promotion’s upcoming September 24th event, and the first bout to be confirmed for the card is a featherweight tilt between established vets Caol Uno (pictured) and Takeshi “Lion” Inoue.
DREAM 17 will be hosted by Saitama’s Super Arena and is expected to feature the opening round of the promotion’s world bantamweight grand-prix.
Inoue (20-5) is coming off a first round stoppage of Koichiro Matsumoto at DREAM’s “Fight for Japan” event in May, after recording a TKO win over Taiki Tsuchiya at a Shooto card in April. The wins came after the former Shooto champ dropped back-to-back bouts to Hatsu Hioki and Kazuyuki Miyata.
Uno (26-14-5) scored a unanimous decision win over Akiyo Nishiura in May, to record his first victory in six fights, which included losses to Spencer Fisher, Shinya Aoki, Miyata, and Gleison Tibau.
HDNet has not yet announced whether it will be broadcasting the event live or on tape delay.
