Charles Oliveira Fires Back at Conor McGregor, Following Championship Win
By FCF Staff
Following Charles Oliveira’s championship win at UFC 262, Conor McGregor sent a warning the new champ’s way, and the latter was quick to fire back.
Oliveira faced Michael Chandler for the vacant lightweight title on Saturday, and secured the belt, by stopping the former Bellator champ in round two. Not long after Oliveira’s memorable win, McGregor tweeted out this.
Congrats to Olivera on becoming the 11th UFC lightweight champion.
Wonder who Twelve is…

During the post-fight press conference, Oliveira was asked to comment on McGregor’s Tweet. ‘Do Bronx’ fired back with the following (quote via MMA Junkie).
“Conor, worry about Dustin,” Oliveira said. “Conor, since you’re so tough: First of all, you beat Dustin, and then you come over to Brazil and I’m going to put you on your ass. First he’s got to get past Dustin. He’s one of these guys that just talks a lot. He’s got to beat Dustin first.”
McGregor is booked to face Poirier in a rubber match at UFC 264, July 10. Poirier avenged his 2014, stoppage loss to the star this past January, by finishing McGregor in round two.
With the win Saturday, Oliveira extended his winning streak to 9 and his overall record to 31-8.
