Chris Leben Apologizes For Criticizing UFC
By FCF Staff
Retired middleweight Chris Leben has taken down a tweet and apologized for comments he made this past weekend, which took aim at the UFC and the company’s compensation structure.
The 33 year-old Leben, who recently retired following his fourth consecutive loss versus Uriah Hall, reportedly tweeted (comments via MMA Fighting.com):
“I wish I would’ve drove truck last 10yrs, then at least I’d have insurance to see a counsellor, UFC left me broke with nothing.”
Leben deleted the tweet afterwards, however, and followed up with the following comments:
I lost my dog and fucking lost it! Sorry please disregard my prev tweet! He was a family member:(

Leben recently called it quits on a pro career which started in 2002, and saw the fighter become one of the UFC’s biggest names, despite his battles with drug addiction.
“The Crippler” retired with an overall record of 22-11.
