Cody Garbrandt Names Several Top Bantamweights, While Discussing Hopes For Next Bout
By FCF Staff
Having healed up from hand and wrist issues, Cody Garbrandt has listed several, top bantamweight contenders while discussing who he would like to battle next.
The former bantamweight champ is coming off a stoppage loss to Pedro Munhoz in March, which was Garbrandt’s (11-3) third straight loss. Garbrandt was in attendance at UFC Sacramento this past weekend, and while talking to the media, “No Love” had this to say while discussing his next fight (quotes via MMA Junkie):
“(I will fight) anyone in the top five can get it,” Garbrandt said. “I like all those fights. Even Dominick Cruz, that’d be a fun rematch. He hasn’t fought since I beat him and he’s out with a lot of injuries. Raphael Assuncao, there’s that Russian kid (Petr Yan). There’s so many dudes I would like to fight in the top. I truly believe I’m the best in the world and the fight game is so – one win erases all of that. I’m excited to just get back in there and show my skills.”
Garbrandt faced Cruz in December, 2016, and took the title from the renowned fighter via decision.
