Cody Garbrandt Says He’ll Show How Sparring “Really Went Down” With TJ Dillashaw

Cody Garbrandt’s first title defense will be against TJ Dillashaw later this year, and the bantamweight champ says he’ll prove he bested the latter, when they used to spar.
Recently the UFC announced that Garbrandt and Dillashaw will be opposing coaches on TUF 25, and that the former teammates will fight at a date yet to be determined. The TUF 25 Season, however, will begin airing on April 19th.
Garbrandt recently appeared on “UFC Tonight“, and while discussing his upcoming bout with Dillashaw, “No Love” stated (quote via FOX Sports press release):
“I have respect for Dominick (Cruz), but I whooped on you, I clowned you. There’s a new hit list. TJ is next, then Jose Aldo and then Conor McGregor. I know what it’s going to be like with TJ because we’ve trained together.”
“The way he fights is the same way he spars in training. He’s going to go out there and try kill you. I was whopping on him when he was there. It’ll be great to set tell the truth and tell the story of how it really went down in training.”
The Team Alpha Male fighter won the 135 title last month, by outscoring Dominick Cruz for the unanimous decision win.
