By Press Release
Combate Americas today announced eight new bouts to complete the world championship Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight card that takes place in Mexicali, B.C., Mexico on Friday, Feb. 21, live on television in the U.S. in Spanish on both Univision (12 a.m. ET/PT) and TUDN USA (12 a.m. ET/9 p.m. PT), and in English on AXS TV (10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT), as well as in Mexico on Televisa Canal 5 (11 p.m. local time).
The nine-fight event, which takes place at Auditorio del Estado, will be headlined by the previously announced world lightweight (155 pounds) title bout between undefeated, reigning world champion Rafa “Gifted” Garcia (11-0) of Mexicali and 2019 “COPA COMBATE” one-night, eight-man tournament champion Humberto Bandenay (18-7, 1 NC) of Lima, Peru.
In the women’s strawweight (115 pounds) co-main event announced today, undefeated Yasmine Jauregui (4-0) will face off with fellow rising star Karen Cedillo (4-1).
The 20-year-old Jauregui of Tijuana, B.C., Mexico will aim for her fourth consecutive Combate Americas conquest, and her fifth win overall. She has earned three of her four career victories to date by way of (T)KO.
Fighting out of Monterrey, N.L., Mexico, the 30-year-old Cedillo will put on the line a three-fight win streak. She will look to bring her Combate Americas record up to 2-1.
In a featured, 130-pound bout announced today, Edgar “Pitbull” Chairez (5-2) of Mexicali will take on David “Torito” Macias Ruiz (4-1) of Monterrey.
The explosive, 23-year-old Chairez, a native of Mexicali, holds an overall record of 4-2 in Combate Americas bouts, including an 18-second armbar submission, and will look to rebound from a unanimous decision defeat at the hands of Albert Trujillo at September 20.
The Monterrey-based Ruiz, 29, will hunt for his third straight win, and his first in La Jaula, the Combate Americas competition cage.

Unbeaten Cristian “Paus” Perez (2-0) of Ensenada will face Roman “Raktley” Lopez Campos (1-5) of Mexicali, also at lightweight.
Making his professional debut in a light heavyweight (205 pounds) scrap, Jaime Paullada (0-0) of Mexicali will face off with L.J. Torres (0-1) of La Quinta, Calif.
