Conor McGregor Fires Back, After Dustin Poirier Questions Star’s Confidence
By FCF Staff
Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier were on good terms heading into their rematch earlier this year, and were pretty respectful towards one another. But, the stars continue to trade verbal jabs as their rubber match approaches.
The lightweight contenders are set to fight for the third time at UFC 264, July 10. In January, Poirier avenged his 2014, stoppage loss to McGregor, by finishing the former champ in round two.
Recently McGregor (22-5) challenged Poirier (27-6, 1 NC) to keep their rubber match on the fight, via the tweet below.

This prompted Poirier to question McGregor’s confidence, during a recent interview with ESPN (quotes via MMA Junkie).
“Isn’t he the one whose always preaching about the flow, the full martial arts, no holds barred, no rules, the ultimate fighting, when he’s talking about boxing and stuff, right?” Poirier said. “How about the first one to get taken down is a dusty b*tch? This is mixed martial arts. Put it all together. It reeks of insecurity to me.”
After Poirier’s comments made the rounds, McGregor followed up with the response below.
Quick take for you and your team pal – You’s got pucked around in the clinch!
Elbows, knees, shoulders, fists.

UFC 264 will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
