After being on the sidelines for nearly three years, Conor McGregor is reporting he wants to fight two more times in 2024, after he faces Michael Chandler at UFC 303.

The former UFC champ-champ is preparing to fight Chandler on June 29th, in what will be McGregor’s first bout since 2021, when he broke his leg during a fight with Dustin Poirier.

Ahead of his Octagon, return, McGregor participated in a Duelbits live chat online. While discussing his hopes for 2024, the 35-year-old said he wants 2024 to be a busy campaign (quotes via MMA Fighting.com).

“June 29, September 5 — Mexican Independence Day — and then December,” McGregor said. “Three bouts this year. Now, I’ll say this, God willing, because life has showed me sometimes different — with injuries and madness takes place. Please God, three bouts. June 29, Sept. 5, and something tasty in December, end of year.

“I have two fights left on my UFC contract. We’re currently in negotiation stage with the UFC. Let’s see what happens. Let’s see what takes place.”

At UFC 303, McGregor (22-6) will be looking for his first victory since 2020, when he quickly stopped Donald Cerrone. The controversial star has fought just three times since he was submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018.

Chandler (23-8), who is now 38, hasn’t fought since November, 2022, when he was submitted by Poirier.

UFC 303 will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
