Conor McGregor Reacts to Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Win & Retirement
By FCF Staff
Conor McGregor has been feuding with Khabib Nurmagomedov for years. But, following the latter’s win and subsequent retirement announcement at UFC 254, McGregor complimented his rival.
Nurmagomedov faced Justin Gaethje in the card’s main event, in a contest many believed would present the undefeated fighter his toughest test to date. Nurmagomedov, however, proceeded to choke Gaethje out in round two.
After the win, the 32-year-old, lightweight champion announced he’s retiring. Nurmagomedov reported that following his father’s passing earlier this year, he promised his mother this would be his final bout.
Not long after, McGregor tweeted out this.
Good performance @TeamKhabib
I will carry on.
Respect and condolences on your father again also. To you and family.
Yours sincerely, The McGregors.

McGregor fought Nurmagomedov in 2018 and was submitted in round four. The lead-up to the fight was one of the most intense and bitter in UFC history.
