Conor McGregor Says Middleweight Fight With Michael Chandler is Set
By FCF Staff
As Conor McGregor recently said he would, the former UFC champion has announced his next fight: a bout with Michael Chandler, and according to McGregor, it will be at middleweight.
McGregor was expected to fight Chandler in 2023, following their run as coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter”. But, due to various reasons, including delays in McGregor re-entering USADA’s testing program, the bout never happened.
On New Year’s Day, McGregor shared out the video below, in which he said he’s fighting Chandler on June 29th. The controversial star also claimed the bout will be at middleweight.

Chandler followed up via social media and said he is willing to battle McGregor at 185 pounds.
I always said I wanted you at your biggest, your baddest and your best. 185 would look good on me.

As this is being written, the UFC has not announced the fight.
McGregor (22-6) hasn’t fought since July, 2021, when he broke his leg in a rubber match with Dustin Poirier.
Chandler (23-8) is also coming off a defeat to Poirier, as he was submitted by the highly regarded lightweight in November, 2022.
