Conor McGregor Tells Michael Chandler 2024 is “Looking Good” For New Fight Date
By FCF Staff
Nothing official has been announced yet, but recently Conor McGregor informed Michael Chandler that their long-awaited, and much-discussed fight will likely happen this year.
Following months of speculation as to when the opposing TUF coaches would fight, McGregor and Chandler were booked to fight at UFC 303 last month. McGregor had to withdraw, however, due to a broken pinky toe.
Although since then, McGregor seemed to hint at the possibility of another match-up materializing, this past weekend he told Chandler he’s talked to the UFC about a new date. The former featherweight and lightweight champ told Chandler the following via X:
I talked to Dana today about our new date, all looking good! 24’ for sure

McGregor (22-6) hasn’t fought now since July, 2021, when he broke his leg in a fight with Dustin Poirier. The polarizing star has gone 2-3 in his last 5 bouts.
Chandler (23-8) is also coming off a loss to Poirier, as he was submitted by the former interim lightweight champ in November, 2022. Chandler is also 2-3 in his last 5 fights.
