Update: After CSAC Announced Drug Testing For “Rousey vs. Kaufman” “Invalid”, Results Expected Soon
By FCF Staff
The California State Athletic Commission has announced that no post-fight drug test results will be forthcoming from the recent August 18th Strikeforce event in San Diego.
In an email sent out this afternoon by the CSAC, the organization announced that “the drug testing for this event was invalid.”
In a follow up email, the CSAC furthered that “we have no additional information.”
The recent Strikeforce event featured the promotion’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey taking on former champ Sarah Kaufman in the main event. Rousey quickly defended her title with a first round victory via armbar.
Some of the other competitors to earn victories on the card included “Jacare” Souza, Tarec Saffiedine, Ovince St. Preux, Miesha Tate and Anthony Smith.
UPDATE: CSAC Interim Executive Officer Kathi Burns announced later Monday afternoon that “a delay in processing the results has occurred due to a simple, but correctable clerical error”. The event’s drug test results are expected later this week or early next week.
