Cub Swanson Talks Timeline For Return, Following Knee Surgery
By FCF Staff
After tearing his knee in a grappling match with Jake Shields last December, Cub Swanson believes he could fight before the year is up.
Prior to injuring his knee at Quintet Ultra, Swanson was coming off a decision win over Kron Gracie at UFC Tampa in October. Recently the featherweight contender posted a video on Instagram, and in it, the 36 year-old reported the following (quote via MMA Junkie).
“I think the biggest thing about my comeback is I had a date of around November, and nothing’s stopping me from that,” said Swanson in an Instagram post. “This whole thing, it’s really challenged me to stay focused. I look at it on the bright side, like I’ve picked a great time to be injured, so I’m just focusing on being at home with my kids and enjoying my time, and knowing that I will be back by November. If there’s fights going on, I will be in them, I will be ready and I will be better than ever.”
The win over Gracie snapped a four-fight losing skid for Swanson (26-11).
