Dana White Confirms Kamaru Usman vs. Jorge Masvidal Fight is Still in Play

Recently Dana White made headlines when he said the UFC was looking at another “interesting” bout for Jorge Masvidal, aside from a fight with Kamaru Usman. But since then, White’s confirmed the UFC hasn’t taken Usman vs. Masvidal off the table.
On account of Masvidal’s three-fight winning streak, earlier this year, White said the UFC was hoping to have Masvidal face the welterweight champ Usman this summer. More recently, however, White referred to another “interesting” option the UFC had for Masvidal.
Since then, White appeared on the “Menace and The Man Show”. While talking about the UFC’s plans for Masvidal, he said this (quotes via MMA Junkie).
“No, the Usman fight is the fight that makes sense,” White said. “It’s the fight that needs to happen if Masvidal wants a title shot. But there’s another interesting fight out there for him right now.”
And when asked whether a bout between Masvidal and Conor McGregor could be a possibility, White said this.
“(That’s a) very good point,” White said. “That’s a possibility, too.”
Masvidal is coming off a TKO win (due to doctor stoppage) over Nate Diaz in November. Usman, meanwhile, defended the welterweight title in December by stopping Colby Covington.
