Dana White: “Nobody’s Jumping Out” to be Back-up For Poirier – McGregor 3

Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor are booked for a highly anticipated rubber match on July 10. But, recently UFC President Dana White confirmed the promotion is actively searching for a backup fighter for the headliner.
Poirier and McGregor will fight for a third time at the event, which will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The fight was signed after Poirier avenged his 2014 loss to McGregor this past January, by taking out the decorated fighter in round two.
Recently White spoke with Tom Taylor for Bleacher Report, and while doing so, he revealed the UFC is looking for a backup fighter for UFC 264.
“I’m actually looking for someone right now to be the backup on that card,” White said. “Nobody’s jumping out. Nobody’s kicking down my door.”
And when asked whether the winner of Poirier – McGregor 3 will advance to face newly crowned lightweight champ, Charles Oliveira, White stated he isn’t sure.
“I don’t know. I gotta watch this fight and see how it plays out.”
Oliveira won the vacant belt earlier this month at UFC 262, by stopping Michael Chandler in round two.
