Ever since Stipe Miocic was taken out by Daniel Cormier last July, he’s campaigned for a rematch with the UFC’s heavyweight champ, and it looks like he’s going to get his wish.

Following Miocic’s KO loss to Cormier at UFC 226, it was announced that Brock Lesnar would fight “DC” next. But, after months of speculation as to whether Lesnar would, in fact, return to the UFC, Dana White recently told ESPN “He told me he’s done. He’s retired.”

The report also states that Cormier and Miocic have verbally agreed to fight on August 17th, at an event in Anaheim, California.

Miocic (18-3), who defended the heavyweight title a record three times, has not fought since UFC 226.

Cormier (22-1, 1 no-contest), on the other hand, faced Derrick Lewis in November and submitted the contender in round three.
